About Hysteria

Hysteria first opened its doors in 1999 as a purveyor of the very best women's accessories in the Washington, DC, area. With encouragement from the many loyal customers Hysteria was pleased to support, the store freshened its concept with the addition of women's clothing in 2001 and later expanded into a spacious and historic townhouse in the center of Old Town in 2003.   In 2004, Hysteria progressed further in order to meet the needs of online customers by offering products available for purchase through the website. 

Taking Hysteria to the next level, the store was recently acquired by Northern Virginia locals:  Suzanne Runyon and Nina Doherty.   Suzanne has been a long-time resident of Old Town, and has also been working at Hysteria for some time now.  When the opportunity arose for her to take on ownership of Hysteria, she jumped at the chance.   And call it sibling rivalry or whatever you like - her sister Nina just had to follow suit and assist as co-owner.   Both women are very excited to extend the successful Hysteria legacy while bringing a fresh energy into the mix.
